All Jake wanted was a little peace and quiet. That was it. Nothing more, nothing less. But, of course, it never went the way he wanted it. It was like the world was trying to work against him. Jake shoved a pair of earphones over his hears, but, still, he could hear the people around him socializing.
Fricking social butterflies.
Jake was nothing of the sort. He was quiet and, dare it be said--antisocial. He disliked having to meet new people, and since it was a new school year at Juliette Dickenson Academy, he wasn't up for meeting any new classmates. In fact, he was more interested in doing absolutely nothing but taking a nice, long nap in the sun. He was a shapeshifter of the feline variety, which meant he was a huge fan of naps and warm sunlight, which would have been perfect right here, except for the noise.
Jake hissed under his breath and pushed the earphones into his ears, trying to block out the noise. He would have shouted for everybody to shut the fuck up, but he really wasn't the type of person to draw attention to himself in the middle of a crowd, thus he was forced to deal with the noise.
He curled up on the bench, trying to at least block the view of people running around him, trying to move shit into their dorms for the year. Jake would do that later after his nice, long nap. At least nobody was pestering him, though he had a feeling that somebody would approach him to strike conversation. Jake sighed, realizing the inevitable, and sat up, watching the Juliette Dickenson students running around him, creating noise and annoyance for the bakeneko. He sighed, following them with his blood-red eyes.

Damn, wasn't he full of energy? Today was a rising star; the sun beaming down it's ultra-violet rays shining down on each student that socialized with each other. Ugh. Why do people talk too much when they know it's going to hurt their vocal cords and it makes them have wrinkles the more they smile and such? It just doesn't make sense. They don't even know that, and if they talk too much outside, then it means they talk too much in class.
And he hated that.
Yet he's quiet and doesn't talk unless he talks or feels like it, once someone just breaks down that wall of his, he bursts into a fury of emotions that mark people as being 'hot-headed', though a more accurate term to him is uncontrollable. He couldn't find anywhere or anyone to release this overflowing energy and finally rest like a lazy person. Damn, he hated being like this, and with the new students running about and new students coming here since it was a new school year, a bunch of information, words, and annoying voices just flooded his brain full tilt.
He is a salamander. The race of elementals that control fire, yet they were rare and held in high regard. No one knew this, and some guessed right away according to his bright red hair and the ends that are yellow, orange, and brown; the perfect combination of colors that describe the sun. He doesn't hold a lot of traits that represent his control over fire, but it should be obvious, yes? He is a third year student, and was supposed to show around a group of first years, but apparently they just decided to walk off and he can hear them yelling "We're lost!" to no one. They should have payed attention. So sad.
"God damnit. He mumbled to himself, sitting next to a second year with short raven hair, not even looking at him or showing movement that he knew he was there at the moment. "Stupid principal telling me to show first years around the school. They just walk away and they yell out they are lost; they need common sense to stick with a person that knows their way around the school like the back of their head." Leon talked extremely fast, something that was like overflowing energy or simply hyper-activity, but if someone made a good guess, it would have to be the first. That was when he realized someone was sitting up next to him, and he turned his head around, blinking a bit before sighing, annoying saying; "... Sorry."

Today, Jakob thought, was going to be a nice, relaxing day. Or, at least, it was until a gang of first years came running by, shouting awfully loudly about how lost they were. At first, Jakob went about covering his ears with his hands, then twisting and turning where he was lying on the bench, nearly causing himself to fall off. Then he went as far as taking his jacket off and throwing it over his head. But even then, he still managed to hear some noise.
Curiously, a redhead boy seemed to be following the first years around, though he looked awfully bored. Jake watched the boy intently, wondering where he'd seen the face before. He knew the guy was in the year above him, but he couldn't remember anything else, let alone, the name. Jakob watched from where he was lying as the boy gave up and began walking towards the bench, unaware of the yokai sitting there.
Jakob got up when the other boy around his age came and sat down on the bench. He scooted over casually to make room, raising his eyebrows as he listened to the boy complain, trying to keep up with him. Jakob nodded, not really caring all that much. Listening to this guy was, admittedly, better than doing nothing. At least it sounded like he had some sense knocked into him.
"First years are whiny bitches," Jake said, yawning. He could almost feel the pain of the red-head next to him.
Almost.
Jake stood up and stretched, "So, how did you ever manage to get such a tedious job in the first place? I thought you had to volunteer for that kind of thing, eh?" apparently not. Jakob shrugged, wondering to himself whether the boy, obviously more important than Jakob, would even respond to his questions, yet he still sat there on the bench, waiting intently for a response, whether it would come or not.
